Rocket Launch
As part of an additional session, we all had the opportunity to build and fly our own rockets. Here I am with the "Canada Goose" on the launch pad.
Owing to a slight tolerance problem in the construction, the first and second stages needed the help of some masking tape to hold them together. This coupled with the use of the two largest rocket motors available meant the launch required careful consideration i.e. we got as far out of the way when we pressed the big red button.
Here's the rocket after recovery from the opposite side of the road. Note the burn marks around the join of the first and second stages caused by the motors burning through the side of the rocket and the masking tape.
